Trees! They come in many forms, shapes, colors, origins. From the Americas to East Asia they were imported, planted to make our lives better and provide the shade and oxygen we need. The city of Glendora was particularity well served in this regard! In each of these trees, I like to see a unique individual with its own personal history. Its own evolution beyond human time.
Some trees are straight, others are twisted. Some have a thin bark, that keeps peeling. Others have it thick, crusty and even spiky! Some are tall, other shorts, some are slim other chunky or just plain huge. They combine elegance, refinement, force and energy.
How not to see bits of our human selves in them?
There is a joyous impulse behind this single page website, behind the photos and the early morning wanderings in the streets of Glendora on my bicycle. I don’t know about you, but as far as I am concerned getting older/wiser brings out new thoughts, new ways of thinking. Maturity seems to bring out a new overall perception of things as well as new sensations.
Glendora streets display an abundance of trees that were planted here some over a hundred years ago! And I am now learning that their seeds come from the four corners of the world.
